Thinking of ordering a new Schecter C-1 SLS Elite 6 Hardtail.. This one.. https://www.ebay.com/p/Schecter-C-1-SLS ... 7efffd2c40

Tell me about the Fishmans. Do they coil-tap, for good Stratty tones as well? How's the quality?

Excuse me for observing this but you have been glued to this forum for how long? It just seems odd that you have so many opinions on other people's postings and gear preferences but have to ask newb questions like this. Just pointing that out so you know what it is like to read your posts. In any case I will help you out with what I know. I played that model but the one they had was sort of a trans black finish. I have not seen that finish in the store yet but it looks very nice. It is a fairly bright sounding guitar. It makes a very nice clean sound. Even though it is a bright guitar it has a good low end depth that balances the overall tone. I am talking about the overall resonance of the guitars construction in clean sounds. It has very good definition for complex chording and the pickups handle high gain easily.

The pickups probably sound more like the Seymour Duncan Blackouts than the EMG81. They have a more balanced EQ than the EMG81 which sounds like there is a little more bass and low mids and grind. The Fluence are smoother and probably cover more musical territory than the EMG81. I like the Fishman better than the Blackouts but still favor the EMG81. That is my opinion. I think because of the natural, bright resonance of the guitar, the pickups are very good for the coil-tapped positions. Both of the knobs are push/pull so there are probably 20 different pickup/pot combinations.

Quality is very good. It is very attractive. Since I look at both fretboard dots and side dots, I did not like the dots being in the middle on the upper frets and at the top on lower frets. It is not as heavy as the usual schecter. The action is very good so it's a low action and little fret buzz. I hope this info helps you make your decision.

What's newb about not playing a guitar with Fishmans??

I would rather hit my nuts with a rubber hammer, than read your long-winded, signature Savage Rifferness....

You'd have to find a very small rubber hammer then.

I had a C1 Classic with neck-through and string-through body very similar to that one in construction. Back then, oh about 14 years ago, you couldn't beat the quality for a Korean made or find anything better for the money. Super fast good medium chunk neck with gold covered JB bridge and Jazz neck pickups. It was my main gigging and studio guitar for about 5 years. Especially if your playing anything metal or hard rock, it's a no-brainer.

I haven't tried that model, but I do have a Schecter 8 string bass and it's great. I think they make nice gear in every price range.

So go for it! Schecter C-1 SLS Elite - Any owners? (4)

I think I will! It's that, or a Solo II Custom. But, I'm tired of Les Pauls, and totally love my Banshee 6-FR! Every bit as nice as an Ibanez Prestige, and I like the neck more than the wizards!

I will be watching for any comments on this if you do purchase one..I just paid off my amp head 2.5 months early and started looking for something different than the normal everyday gear.
I have a nice early Blackjack that has/had the stock SD 59' in neck and JB in bridge, sounded great that way but slipped in a Nazgul bridge and now its a total badass for a low cost Korean model,so I am a Schecter fan for sure.
I decided to wait on the SLS Elite and bought a new Jackson SL2Q and love it,but I am still seriously thinking about the SLS,and would probably do the Floyd Rose version only because my Blackjack does it for for a string through body. now this post has me wanting the SLS Elite right now,so please let us know if you get one and which color,it would be hard for me to pick but that Black fade looks really nice, but so does the Antique fade burst. I don't have that guitar dude but pretty happy with my C-1+ overall.

Custom Custom/'59 (upgraded from Duncan Designed HB102s or whatever)
Frets feel great
Neck is perfect for me. Not too slim not too thick
Grover tuners stock
Great sustain IMO
Like, you can hit a chord and feel the frequencies or sound waves flowing through the guitar
Can get somewhat Straty but also beefy LP like tone
If I could change anything I'd upgrade the internal electronics

Here is some p*rn too for a positive vibe

Played a couple in my local shop. Guitar was nice: fit to finish, played well, balanced well. I didn't like the Fishmans, but I just think I'm not an active guy.

It's still in the mix. I'm looking at several in the $1500 range.

Are you open to going used?

If you like PRS I would look for a used CE model. Or an older ESP Horizon.

Fugly..

I'm still pretty close to pulling the trigger on the Schecter. I'm just hung up on the Fishmans. I'm not an EMG fan, and am not familiar with Fishmans. Everything I've read and listened to seem positive, however.

I also have an SG Standard in the mix, as well as an Explorer, and Edwards LP Custom. Boils down to Super Strat vs. more beef, and what will jive best with the Quick Rod. I like an articulate, punchy tone, and don't care for compressed/co*cked wah fizz of super hot pickups. Hence the Fishman hesitation.

Fishman wise - I feel like you could probably pull the pickups / pots / jack, sell those and toss in a set of whatever pickups you want for less than you sold the fishmans for. I played one of these SLS Elites after y’all recommended it as an option for a fixed bridge hipshot style guitar and it played extremely well, unfortunately the finish / top for the one I played in person was really ugly (compared to others I’ve come across) and this one was a bit more beat up and the price wasn’t negotiable. I just struggled to find one at a price point that I was comfortable with and I didn’t want to buy new.
