As much of an explorer I am, there’s only so far I’m willing to blindly travel for resources. That’s where having the world’s seed comes in handy!Minecraft’sseeds are values made up of characters and are the basis for generating every Minecraft world.

Minecraftuses an algorithm calledPerlin noiseto generate each new world.Perlin noiseoutputs a pseudo-random value that is used to determine the characteristics and features of that world. It’s a constant point or seed, meaning the same seed will generate the same terrain each time it’s used.

Note: You must have permission on a multiplayer server in order to get the seed number.

1 – Get Your World Seed Number

Minecraftalready comes with a simple command to finding out your world’s seed. Simply open the chat and type/seed. Upon hittingEnter, your world seed will appear in the chat.

2 – Copy Seed Number

Hover the mouse over the seed number in the chat and left click to copy the seed.
