The Galar Cup is a limited-time Battle League event during the Max Out season for Pokémon Go players. If you’re interested in participating in this competition, you want to bring the best teams you can use during these battles. You’ll face off against opponents at any skill level, but it helps to know some of the strongest Pokémon you should use on your team. These are the best teams you can craft for Pokémon Go‘s Galar Cup Little League competition.
Best Galar Cup Little League teams in Pokémon Go
There are several rules all Pokémon Go players are required to follow to participate in the Galar Cup Little League. Any Pokémon you use on your team must be at or below at least 500 CP, and they are Pokémon that can only be found in the Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield PokéDex, which greatly reduces your options. However, this does mean you find Pokémon that are not Galar region-specific choices, such as Wooloo, Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble.
These are some of the best Pokémon teams you should consider using while participating in the Galar Cup Little League battles in Pokémon Go.
Charjabug, Lotad, and Swinub
For our first team, we have the consistently good Charjabug. You can use Charjabug reliably in Pokémon Go‘s Great League, but it does well in the Little Cup alongside Lotad and Swinub. You’ll want to use Charjabug as your first option and have Lotad on standby when you’re ready to switch it out, and then finish the fight using Swinub as your final Pokémon.
- Charjabug: Volt Switch (fast move), X-Scissor, and Discharge
- Lotad: Razor Leaf (fast move), Scald, and Energy Ball
- Swinub: Powder Snow (fast move), Body Slam, and Icy Wind
Galarian Zigzagoon, Onix, and Joltik
The next team focuses on Galarian Zigzagoon as the first entry. Its final form, Obstagoon, is a fantastic choice in the Ultra League, and Galarian Zigzagoon can be a good choice against other Pokémon Go players in the Little Cup. You’ll want to bring the other Electric and Bug-type Pokémon, Joltik, with you, and then have Onix as your final Pokémon against an opponent.
- Galarian Zigzagoon: Tackle (fast move), Body Slam, and Dig
- Joltik: Sucker Punch (fast move), Cross Poison, and Discharge
- Onix: Rock Throw (fast move), Rock Slide, and Breaking Swipe
Wingull, Oddish, and Stufful
It wouldn’t be a Little League best teams ranking if we didn’t include Wingull somewhere in our recommendations. Wingull and Pelipper remain standout choices in Pokémon Go fights, and Wingull can be an ideal asset for these battles. For additional support, you’ll want to bring Oddish and Stufful with you, who should be able to help out when facing off against anything that might counter Wingull.
- Wingull: Quick Attack (fast move), Water Pulse, and Ice Beam
- Oddish: Razor Leaf (fast move), Seed Bomb, and Sludge Bomb
- Stufful: Tackle (fast move), Superpower, and Stomp
Wooper, Ralts, and Drifloon
It would also be odd not to add Wooper to the Little Cup lineup in Pokémon Go. As a Water and Ground-type, Wooper is challenging to counter, and while there are a handful of Grass-type Pokémon you may encounter throughout these battles, you want to bring Ralts and Drifloon with you as options for your back up choices.
- Wooper: Mud Shot (fast move), Body Slam, and Mud Bomb
- Ralts: Confusion (fast move), Disarming Voice, and Psyshock
- Drifloon: Hex (fast move), Icy Wind, and Shadow Ball
Machop, Grookey, and Gastly
The final team will highlight one of the new Max Out seasonPokémon Go additions. As a Grass-type, Grookey can be a great option if you’re worried about any Water or Rock-types you could fight against in these battles. However, to help it out, we recommend using Machop and Gastly as backup and holding Gastly in reserve as your final option.
- Machop: Karate Chop (fast move), Cross Chop, and Return
- Grookey: Razor Leaf (fast move), Grass Knot, and Energy Ball
- Gastly: Astonish (fast move), Sludge Bomb, and Dark Pulse
